When I think of home

I am an upbeat, health-conscious, creative, thoughtful woman with good table manners who likes to play with fire (fireplaces, candles, grills) and water (beaches, hot springs and tubs), and I keep my promises. I believe in working hard, playing harder, smiling just because, laughing when I fall, putting people who are important to me first, and living my dreams. I’m a maze of contradictions, but it’s made my life memorable, and I can explain it all if you give me enough time (and tea). My top addictions are writing, reading, walking, learning, cooking, comedy, tai chi, and nurturing special relationships with my 20-year old daughter and friends. I’ve also been known to skate, nap at the beach, celebrate my birthday for a month, play video games, read children’s books when there are no children around (ask), wish on stars, parasail, dress up for Halloween, climb trees, and start snowball fights. Like brilliant poetess Nikki Giovanni once wrote, I, too, "would like to die warmed by the life I tried to live." Looking For: You know and love who you are…kids and old people are drawn to your kind face, and your mom's eyes twinkle when she speaks of you…I want to kiss you on sight because of the way you smile at me when I come into the room. You're interesting, optimistic, thoughtful, caring, and I can count on you. You appreciate an independent woman who wants you more than she needs you and takes care of you while you're taking care of her. You stay put during a conflict (ducking the pillows I aim for your head) and talk as long as it takes to get back to the sweet spot (because I will too). And you don't care if I forget to shave my legs this Winter.
